Allegra
Photo & chalk pastels on paper

I adore this image. My frisbee-buddy Chris' daughter, Allegra, is captured here riding a gorgeous Arabian by the name of Harley on a California jump course. Allegra is totally focused on the next jump, looking ahead, planning her approach to the next obstacle. What a contrast between a young, fragile girl and 2000 pounds of hurtling-through-space horseflesh. The adults in the background are resigned to observe impotently from the distance. I love the contrast between the soft folds of Allegra's riding coat, and tautness of Harley's rippled muscles.
A Christmas commissioned portrait.
This work is in a private collection in Danville, California. The Owner:Hi Del,
The picture of Allegra and Harley is truly magnificent! Right now it's hanging in the center of our living room, and I've had many compliments on it. People ask me about it all the time.
Thanks again,
Chris
